A Stylish New Haircut

This past summer, roundabout June, I'd had enough. My hair and I have a long standing love/hate relationship. I love the color, the fact that it's wavy and can look very good at times. But I hate that it gets so frizzly, tangles super easily and never wants to grow past my shoulders. It'll get to the base of my shoulder blades and then start wanting to grow sideways instead of down. And it's a dream of mine to one day have waist long hair {not sure why since that'd be a real chore to maintain}. But this summer, I decided I'd had enough of my hair trying to grow sideways. So I chopped it short.

My poor husband {who likes me much better with long hair} wasn't too pleased with my action, but he trimmed it up a little for me anyway.

My mom, who is something of a perfectionist in her own way, decided it was still lopsided and spent twenty minutes evening it out.

The end results were quite stylish and so much easier to deal with than the longer hair. I could use less shampoo and didn't get upset when my husband wanted to run his fingers through my hair. Of course, getting the bangs to stay out of my eyes proved to be a little challenging.

Hair-clips and headbands came in very handy at that point. I've very much enjoyed having short hair {I got a surprising number of compliments - more than when I have long hair, so it might be a good long-term thing to contemplate}. And now, six months later, my hair is just starting to reach the tops of my shoulders and I can do more styles with it while still enjoying the relative freedom of not having long hair.
