Busy, busy, busy. But I have pictures of our new little cabin to share so keep an eye out for that. ;) I'm hoping to get some posts all done up and ready to post; I just need to get myself motivated to do so. Any thoughts? Our birthing classes are all done and most of the Christmas prep is too, aside from half finished cards laying around, no cookies baked yet and still waiting on one last present to arrive so I can put my grand scheme into play. Muhahaha! Oh and I gotta start thinking about packing my hospital bag. It'd be a bit bad to go into labor and not be ready for it. Oooh, I'm hungry again. And I want tomato soup, chocolate chip cookies, chocolate cake and orange juice. But not all at once. What am I gonna make for dinner?

Hiya!

Hello, hello, hello. Long time no see, eh? There's quite a story behind that. First off, I couldn't post nearly as much as I wanted to over the summer because I didn't have the energy to write the posts because I had very bad morning sickness and was throwing up all over the place. It was nasty. When it finally started to clear up in September, guess what? We have to take my computer in to get the CD player fixed before the warranty expired and it was in the shop supposedly getting fixed from the beginning of September to the end of November. It was so very frustrating. I couldn't even do NaNo!

But now I have my computer back with a working CD player {the number pad doesn't work but whatever}, I'm all done throwing up and am gearing up for the final leg of 2013 and my first pregnancy. I'm currently 31 weeks pregnant by my calculations, though the doctors add an extra two weeks so according to them I'm 33 weeks along. We have two more birthing class sessions left, a bunch of doctor appointments coming up for routine checks, a birth plan to write, Christmas to shop for, a baby shower on Saturday and then we get to impatiently wait for the due date in mid-January to arrive and then fly by. ;) I also have a ton of blog posts to write and catch up on so hopefully, this blog will get a little more active. See ya soon!

Future Posts

Sadly, I haven't been able to blog nearly as much as I'd like to these past couple months. It's getting closer to when I can explain why, but not just yet. *winks* In the meantime, with what extra time I have on hand, I will be sorting through the seemingly hundreds of photos that have gathered dust in my inbox and try to assemble them into more or less coherent posts. One of the posts, the one on our first anniversary to be exact, should be placed on your look-out-for list as it was quite the adventure. *smiles wearily*

Funny Facial Expressions

Everyone has blooper moments. Here are some of ours, collected over a period of several months, in no order. I'll leave off writing captions and let the pictures speak for themselves. Enjoy!

Ducklings

Ducks are probably my favorite species of bird - partly because they are so cute and partly because they have bills, rather than sharp beaks. I was attacked by a bunch of roosters when I was three so I don't much like birds with long sharp pointy beaks. But I love ducks! The way they quack and waddle, flap around in the water and are so talkative yet so quiet and peaceful at the same time. Growing up my sister and I had a pet duck named Peeps who thought she was a chicken and couldn't figure out why her chicken siblings didn't like going swimming. It's been years since I saw or had a duckling so here are a bunch of super cute pictures I decided to share with you just because I can, and because I like ducks.

Black Cicada and Wild Flowers

Awhile back, while we were working in the garden pulling up grass and planting stuff, I found a black cicada.

He was one a stem of grass that I was about to rip out. So I rescued him and gave him to my preoccupied husband who was working on the sprinklers.

I set the bug on his knee and, surprisingly, the bug stayed there for quite some time while my husband worked. He was having fun having a bug hanging out with him.

And then I found a second black cicada after the first one flew away.

Since then, we're rather stopped counting how many of these unique bugs we come across.

Also, I did a wildflower arrangement when I was trying to get out of doing dishes. I picked some lovely white dogwood blossoms, a manzaneta branch, some deerbrush, and this lovely pink flower.

I've seen it growing around here for a long time now; but it wasn't until after I picked it that I realized, it's a wild Bleeding Heart. I was so excited I texted my mom and told her all about it.

Husband's Birthday Part 3

Beginning where Part 2 left off, at Lovers' Leap, we have more breath-taking scary pictures.

This is where our main pathway comes down at.

And this is the branch-off my husband went exploring. It was actually rather incredible further in with a massive rock looming above our heads.

This was a neat giant tree we found that was all forked at the top.

We went and visited the giant oak tree. There were ants everywhere!

And, of course, he found a mostly-downed tree that he just couldn't resist climbing on.

Once up there, he posed for a picture

And then jumped down even though I told him not to. He landed well and didn't hurt himself on all the sticks laying around waiting to stab his bare feet.

There was a weather beaten gnarly little bush-tree along one path that was very interesting to look at.

After he took my picture I made him pose by the bush-tree and let me take one of him.

Once we'd tired ourselves out and brushed off all the ants, we headed back home and he played with his new cube some more.

Toward early evening we headed over to have a small party with my parents and siblings. My very talented sister made him a delicious maple cake, everyone sang the happy birthday song to him {which touched him very much}, and he opened the presents they'd got him. If and when I get those pictures from my mom's camera, I'll have a fourth part to this lovely post. But for now, I'll conclude that he had a wonderful birthday.
