The Trailer

At the end of February 2013, we'd moved from our first tiny apartment to a trailer on my parents' property due to the rent being too high and the landlord being a jerk. While a little cold at night at first and somewhat cramped for space, the trailer turned out to be a fun place to spend the warm summer months in.

One day when he was bored, my husband took the tarp off and washed the outside of the trailer.

When you first walked into the door, you saw our little dining table. He sat on the right side and I sat on the left, with my purse and a few cubbyholes of stuff like tea and chocolate handy.

It was always difficult to keep this area clean because we used it for so many things.

Right across from the table was our "kitchen." The sink didn't work so we used it as extra storage, and the stove didn't work either so we stuck an electric double burner on it for making tea in the cold mornings. We had a bathroom/kitchen in a separate building nearby where we could do laundry and prepare our meals.

To the right of the door was the couch area. For a long time, we left it set up as a couch. Then, to mix things up, we dropped the back down and turned it into a second bed, though neither of us slept on it except during afternoon naps or when one of us would fall asleep in the middle of a movie.

My husband {who hates having his picture taken} was enjoying his day off on a slightly chilly afternoon with a movie when I took this picture. Earlier in the day he'd helped me do some necessary cleaning.

Our entertainment area was somewhat small and crowded, but it worked well for us.

This particular shelf by the stove was later cleaned out and used to hold our summer clothes - mainly, all my skirts.

And down this tight hallway lurked the bed.

It was a very comfortable full size mattress.

We had to put curtains up after awhile to keep the early morning sun out once summer hit.

And an additional lamp to help light our cozy area in the dark evenings. A month before we moved out of the trailer into our current abode {a cute little cabin}, we moved the bed to the couch to help contain the living area since one little heater just wasn't keeping the whole trailer warm enough at night.

While it was a lovely place to live in during the summer, I personally don't really relish the thought of someday living in a trailer again - especially with a baby. *winks*
