The Fair

In early August, my husband and I decided to go to the Nevada County Fair. I hadn't been there since I was seventeen and my husband had never been at all {this was also his first California fair}. So we picked a day {which just happened to be the free admission day} and bounced off on a new adventure.

I wore my peach dress despite the fact that it was starting to hug me very closely around the middle.

The entrance we came in at was the one my family exited by the last time I came. So we decided to pose by the little fountain for a few pictures. He took one of me.

I took one of him.

And we took one of ourselves.

This is the picture my mom took of my siblings and I the last time we came at the same fountain. I have no idea where my Dad had wandered off to; otherwise, he'd be in the picture too. We all look rather tired, don't we?

Anyway, after that, my husband and I wandered around and checked out the exhibits.

I really liked this apron; the colors were lovely.

And who can resist a dragon on a quilt?

There were also some very lovely dresses, though this one was the loveliest.

My favorite part was looking at the flower arrangements.

The pocketwatch was a neat touch to this one, I thought.

I wish I knew what kind of flower this is.

And this pot was simply overflowing with color!

Elegant and very pretty.

And this simple sunflower was an impressive size.

Then there were these very tiny arrangements that were so cute.

After that, my husband decided it was time for another first. Neither of us had ever been on the farris wheel before, so he got some tickets and off we went.

Now, I hate heights. They're scary. But my husband loves them.

So while I clung to his arm and tried to convince myself we weren't gonna fall off and die, he amused himself taking pictures.

Some were very good shots; others were just scary.

I had fun petting the sheep. In this picture you can kinda see my baby bump.

Obviously, someone thought I was worthy of more than one picture.

And then we saw some really cute bunnies!

The black and white ones were so neat looking.

And this brown one made both of us think immediately of Peter Rabbit.

The little chicks though, weren't such an impressive sight. The poor little things were way too hot.

Among the many things we did, we bought stuff. My husband couldn't resist and bought me this long dress at the last minute. I wasn't so sure about it, but the dress {once it was a little adjusted} was very comfortable to wear and I love how long it is.

We also got two scarves. This turquoise flowery one.

And this darker blue rose one that I really like.

For kicks, I struck up a pregnant pose before changing back into my regular clothes. In all, despite it being very hot and dusty, we had a grand day.
