It's a very hot heatwave over here in CA and with a baby, it's tricky to keep her cool. We have lots of tricks; a wet towel on her head, a little fan blowing on her, letting her hang around in her diaper. So one day when we were both home and rather bored, we decided to check out the local pool.
It was the baby's first time at the pool and, when her teeny toes touched the cold water, she didn't like it.
But, when she was comforted and allowed to dip her toes in by degrees, she enjoyed it.
She stared at the water, at the older kids playing further off, at us, at the trees, and at her feet.
She made plenty of funny faces at us too.
And then, once she'd waded in a little further with assistance, she started walking around in the water with me holding onto her. She's been doing that for awhile now; we call it practice walking. It was very cute and we took a video of it. When I figure out how to stick it in a blog post, I'll share it with you.
From her vantage point with Daddy, she could more easily stare at the other kids.
She also had a lot of fun being bounced in the water and moved around so her feet swished through the water but didn't touch the bottom. She slept really well during her nap later. *winks*
Awww! It's so sweet to watch little babies in that first pool experience. :) Thanks so much for sharing with us.
